Partnering for Success: How TechPath Optimised Beaucare’s IT

Beaucare is a not for profit agency based in Beaudesert with a very long and proud history of supporting communities in the areas of aged care, disability support, community support, child care services, and referral services. It is an organisation that prides itself on connecting services that are suited to individual needs and lifestyle. They needed to know their IT systems would continue to support their work, and their growing team.

The Challenge

Passionate about supporting Scenic Rim communities for over 35 years, Beaucare were looking for a new IT provider who could better secure their technology environment and provide consistent ongoing support.

Ainsley Hinkins, Operational Support Services Manager, said, ‘We were at the end of our IT contract and had been experiencing frustrations with the support we were receiving. We decided to go to tender to find a partner who could better support our technology needs.’

Prior to TechPath’s engagement, there was a lack of proactive support and inconsistent IT management. Microsoft licences needed to be reviewed to boost the overall cyber security of the business. They were experiencing poor phone quality due to Internet dropouts, and device management needed to be implemented to support end users.

The Solution

TechPath worked collaboratively with Beaucare and implemented a solution that would provide a seamless user experience whilst enhancing cyber security. This was in addition to a ‘no lock-in contract’ Managed IT service agreement that would cater to the immediate and ongoing support needs of the business.

TechPath reviewed the settings in the Microsoft 365 tenant and applied additional IT policies to improve overall security. Microsoft Intune (a cloud-oriented device management platform) was configured to push out policies, default applications, and standardised Windows settings for end user devices. A third-party SaaS backup solution was implemented to protect Microsoft 365 cloud data.

Multi-factor authentication with conditional access policies were enabled and enforced for all users to further enhance cyber security, and an SD-WAN solution was deployed to
provide Internet redundancy, so phone calls always remain active in the event of an outage on the primary connection.

The Outcome

Beaucare now have much more confidence in their IT environment. There is less downtime due to the proactive nature of the Managed IT agreement. Support is more consistent than ever before, and they are enjoying the relationship they have built with the TechPath team.

When asked why TechPath was selected Ainsley said, ‘We received outstanding customer service from Dan (Business Development Manager) and Allan (Solution Architect). They were
both very patient and explained a highly technical solution in a non-technical way that made sense to our team.’

She added, ‘TechPath took the time to get to know our business which makes dealing with them so much easier. There are now no dramas, which is exactly as it should be.’

For other businesses considering a new IT provider, she said, ‘There is effort involved but it’s all worth it in the end. Work through the transition, put in the time and you’ll be in a really good place.’

‘Our relationship with the TechPath helpdesk team makes a world of difference to our business.’
