Scottsdale Construction Systems Finds a Reliable Partner in TechPath

Scottsdale Construction Systems has been delivering world-leading solutions for the manufacture of steel frames and trusses since 1995. With a strong focus on innovation and customer service, they were seeking a proactive technology partner who could support their evolving business needs.

The Challenge

Serving residential and commercial construction markets across more than 100 countries, Scottsdale required an IT partner capable of supporting its global reach and responding quickly to fast-changing customer demands.

Wayne Sawyer, Vice President of Technology, explained, ‘Extended delays in IT support were impacting productivity, and ageing hardware was becoming costly to maintain.’

There was an opportunity to strengthen cyber threat planning, improve user training, modernise device management, and enhance overall security and efficiency. With these goals in mind, Scottsdale began the search for a more capable and responsive IT partner.

The Solution

Using its TechAlign audit process, TechPath conducted a comprehensive review of Scottsdale’s IT environment, working closely with Wayne and engaging with staff across the business to understand the organisation’s needs and challenges. A detailed presentation of findings highlighted strengths, risks, and clear recommendations to support Scottsdale’s long-term goals.

TechPath took over Managed IT support and led a series of improvements, including the implementation of a structured cyber threat response policy, regular user security awareness training, and enforced strong password practices. Security was further strengthened through the deployment of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access policies. Ageing hardware was replaced with modern devices, supported by a device lifecycle management strategy. The team also separated corporate and guest Wi-Fi networks, secured infrastructure with complex passwords, and relocated critical systems to a more secure location.

To ensure staff could get the most from their tools, TechPath introduced scheduled training sessions focused on software usage and cybersecurity best practices.

The Outcome

TechPath transformed Scottsdale’s IT environment, reducing cybersecurity risks and boosting resilience with strong security measures that also improved the user experience. The enhancements have built confidence among insurance providers and leadership, while TechPath’s proactive support resolves most issues before they impact staff.

As a fast-growing global company with staff working across multiple continents, Scottsdale depends on a reliable cloud-first infrastructure. With TechPath in place, downtime has been minimised, and staff can stay productive – even while travelling to support customers around the world.

Scottsdale evaluated several providers prior to transitioning, but TechPath stood out. ‘They were the only team who insisted on meeting face-to-face, which added a much-needed human element in today’s increasingly online-only world. From the beginning, they were open, honest, flexible, and focused on building a solution to suit us, not forcing us to fit into theirs.’

He concluded, ‘TechPath have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with. From initial engagement to transition and ongoing support, every interaction has been positive. As the person ultimately responsible for IT at Scottsdale, it’s incredibly rewarding to hear such consistent praise for TechPath from our staff. It confirms we made the right choice.
