Trussmaster is a prominent manufacturer specialising in prefabricated roof trusses, pre-nail wall frames, floors, and laminated beams. Catering to the needs of some of Australia’s best-known builders, they were seeking an IT provider who could better support their evolving technology needs.
The Challenge
Established in 1984, Trussmaster is a proud Australian manufacturer that provides housing solutions to builders and timber wholesalers. With locations in two states and numerous large-scale projects always on the go, the company wanted to enhance productivity, reliability, and the consistency of their IT environment.
David Horwell, Director, said, ‘We had outgrown our current provider and were seeking an IT company who could help us improve our dayto-day operations.’
Trussmaster’s IT environment had become outdated, leading to software malfunctions and sluggish computers. The company recognised the need to upgrade its server and network infrastructure to enhance connectivity, security, and productivity across both onpremises and cloud environments.
The Solution
In collaboration with key stakeholders at Trussmaster, TechPath proposed several key recommendations to enhance the company’s IT infrastructure. These included separating guest and corporate devices to enhance security and system stability, as well as adopting SD-WAN technology to ensure uninterrupted internet and site connectivity.
TechPath also emphasised the importance of improving server backup and recovery capabilities to mitigate hardware failures and site outages, reducing the risk of data loss and minimising system downtime.
TechPath’s solutions effectively addressed outdated aspects of the previous IT infrastructure. Notably, they resolved issues relating to network stability and cloud backups, and implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Furthermore, TechPath performed upgrades on the server hardware and software, resulting in a substantial reduction of the risk of unplanned downtime and an overall enhancement of system security.
The Outcome
Trussmaster are now experiencing a secure and reliable IT environment, with a dependable IT partner ready to provide assistance whenever necessary.
David said, ‘Our IT infrastructure is now fast and stable, and has led to increased user productivity. With cloud backups in place, we have peace of mind, knowing that critical data is securely stored offsite.’
The selection of TechPath as the IT provider was influenced by recommendations from their previous provider, whom they had outgrown. Additionally, the recognition of reputable businesses partnering with TechPath played a crucial role in their decision to make the switch.
When asked for advice for other companies seeking to change IT providers, David said, ‘We delayed the move to a new IT provider on the assumption it would be a time-consuming and cumbersome process. This was not the case with TechPath; they applied an efficient and methodical approach to the onboarding process, with minimal interruption to our business.’
